Dr. Paul McCluskey is a plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast, and body. As the founder of the Plastic Surgery Institute of Atlanta, he is dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate care to each patient.
Education and Training
Dr. McCluskey earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. He then received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi, where he also completed an internship in Anesthesiology. His interest in breast surgery was sparked during his mother’s mastectomy and reconstructive breast surgery, which played a significant role in her recovery. This experience inspired Dr. McCluskey to pursue a career in breast reconstruction.
He completed a five-year residency in General Surgery, serving as Chief Resident. During this time, his breast reconstruction research was published and presented at local and national meetings. Dr. McCluskey was then selected for a highly competitive Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he trained alongside world-renowned leaders in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. McCluskey has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles on topics including cosmetic surgery, breast lift and breast reduction, breast reconstruction, and facial reconstruction after skin cancer. His commitment to education has earned him multiple “Resident of the Year” awards, reflecting his dedication to teaching and mentoring future surgeons.
